Richard Potocek, CPA, MBA, CFE is a forensic and dispute services consultant with more than 30 years of experience in fraud investigations. He founded and is the president of Greystone Advisory Group, a litigation support firm focused on due diligence, internal corporate and forensic accounting investigations. Mr. Potocek has worked in the private sector as a director with Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP in the areas of corporate and financial investigations and litigation support, and in the public sector as assistant director for the U.S. House Appropriations Committee's Surveys and Investigations staff. In both positions he supervised investigations focused on financial management and the identification of instances of waste, fraud, inefficiencies and weaknesses in internal controls, giving him expertise in a wide variety of governmental and private industries. Before his assignment to the Appropriations Committee, Mr. Potocek was a special agent with the FBI for over 24 years where he spent most of his career investigating federal white collar crime cases to include mortgage fraud, securities fraud, bankruptcy fraud, and corporate and financial institution fraud. His last position with the FBI was the Unit Chief of the FBI's Internal Audit Staff.


Christina Miles received her Master of Science in Criminal Justice in 1994 from The American University. She began working for the Montgomery County State’s Attorneys Office as a Legal Assistant in 1994. In 2000, she became the Director of the Family Violence Division for the State’s Attorneys Office and currently holds that position. In 2009 she was involved in the development and opening of the Montgomery County Family Justice Center, a collaboration of public and private agencies, to include, the State’s Attorneys Office, County Police, County Sheriffs, County Health and Human Services, as well as many other victim service providers. The Family Justice Center is a “one stop shop” for victims of domestic violence and their families, where they may receive multiple services in one location.



John Pace, CPA, CVA, CGMA has more than 15 years of accounting and finance experience. As a partner in the firm's client services department, he is primarily responsible for performing, planning and supervising compilation, review, consulting and business valuation services for GRF's nonprofit, government contractor and other for-profit clients. Mr. Pace also provides assistance to GRF clients in the capacity of temporary controlloer/chief financial officer, with duties such as cash flow planning and analysis, financial statement preparation, financial performance analysis, budgeting and bookkeeping. For government contractor clients, he prepares and analyzes indirect rate calculations, prepares incurred cost submission proposals, provides pricing and proposal support and analysis and provides guidance related to the proper treatment of government contractor specific accounting issues. Additionally, he works with clients to develop government contractor compliant accounting systems. He has experience with the FAR, CAS and other regulations related to government contractors. Mr. Pace is involved with GRF's business valuation practice and holds the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). He assists clients with the valuation needs of privately held entities (for use in GAAP compiance, estate tax, stock option plans, divorce proceedings, buy/sell, etc.). In addition, Mr. Pace is a Chartered Global Management Accountant, having recently earned that designation. In earlier professional roles, Mr. Pace gained experience in many areas of finance and accounting including general ledger accounting, reporting and analysis, budgeting, cash flow analysis, scenario and variance analysis and forecasting. Mr Pace is familiar with financial management software applications including Deltek, Quickbooks and Peachtree. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from George Mason University and an accounting certificate from Montgomery College. He has completed the George Mason University Contracting with the Federal Government Certificate Program. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Greater Washington Society of CPAs, the Maryland Association of CPAs and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.



Rob Rutten,is a Captain of the Montgomery County Maryland, Fire and Rescue, with 28 years of experience. He is a certified Fire and Explosive Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (NFPA 1033-1998) and was a certified Bomb Technician (Hazardous Device Technician) through the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for 12 years. While Working with Montgomery County Fire Rescue, and as a graduate of Montgomery County Policy Academy, Mr. Rutten conducted criminal investigations with a focus on fire, arson, explosions and bombings. Mr. Rutten worked closely with other local, state and federal agencies throughout the 12 years he was assigned to the Arson and Bomb Squad. Mr. Rutten was assigned to a Federal Arson Task Force with the U.S. Department of Justice, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) in Baltimore, where he served as a Task Force Office (TFO) and Arson K9 Handler for 9 of the 12 years. As a TFO, Mr. Rutten was a sworn Special Deputy United States Marshal. The focus of the Arson Task Force was large loss incidents involving interstate commerce, churches and serial offender cases. In July 2008, Mr. Rutten entered the private sector providing consulting services in the area of fire and explosion origin and cause. Mr. Rutten provides on scene investigative examinations, evidence identification and collection and expert opinion and testimony as to the origin and cause of fire or explosions. Additionally, Mr. Rutten provides investigative services involving a variety of circumstances where his expertise in interview, interrogation and surveillance may be helpful to the client.



Terry Ryan was a police officer for 21 years in Montgomery County, Maryland. He began his service as a firefighter/emergency medical technician and later transferred to the policy department. He spent 5 five years with the Arson/Bomb unit, 7 years with the Vice and Intelligence unit and 5 years with the Homicide, Sex and Major Crimes division before retiring from the police department in the Major Offender Narcotics unit. He has been assigned to counter-terrorism, organized crime enforcement, operated in numerous undercover/covert operations throughout the Metropolitan D.C. area. Mr. Ryan was designated as a primary investigator in the Metro Area Sniper Task Force of 2002 and was tasked with interviewing the suspects upon their arrest. He also assisted in the investigation of the anti-abortion extremists bombings that occurred in the metro area in 1984 and 1985. All of these assignments involved extensive coordination and application of various surveillance and investigative techniques. Mr. Ryan has functioned as a primary investigator in investigations involving state and federal prosecutions of murder-for-hire, serial homicide, sex offenses, money laundering, bank fraud and gambling conspiracies. These investigations required extensive experience and skills in interviewing, interrogation and debriefing of witnesses and suspects. Mr. Ryan has been assigned to Federal task forces investigating firearms and narcotics trafficking. Several of the investigations he has participated in have been feature in national media outlets due to notoriety and complexity. He was previously certified as an instructor by the Maryland Policy Training Commission and presented basic investigative techniques and terrorism training at the Montgomery County Police Training Academy. Additionally, Mr. Ryan has served as a guest instructor to local colleges and Universities. Mr. Ryan continues to attend semi-annual training programs on a variety of emerging Law Enforcement issues.
